It contains various parodies of The Lord of the Rings, such as the title spoofing Middle-earth, and with Mount Boom similar to Mount Doom. However, the storyline is completely different to The Lord of the Rings. The books included in Muddle earth are
- Engelbert the Enormous
- Here Be Dragons
- Dr. Cuddles of Giggle Glade
There has also been rumoured to be a sequel to Muddle Earth published by Random House Children's books (the Edge Chronicles) in the near future.
