Paul McCoy (born September 7, 1981) is an American musician and the lead singer from New Orleans hard rock band 12 Stones.

[edit] Biography

When he was born, Paul weighed 10 lbs, 8 oz. He grew up in Florence, Mississippi until December of 1991 when his family moved to Mandeville, Louisiana. Paul had serious ear surgery on his left ear right after moving to Louisiana, and only has limited hearing in his left ear even today. He has two sisters, ages 12 and 17. He was listed as gifted when he was tested in 4th grade and was always a quick learner. He was voted "Most Popular" his senior year at Fountainbleu High School. His favorite sport is soccer and although he is right handed he plays soccer left footed. Lasagna is one of his favorite foods. He is a very socialble person. He has recently gotten into getting tattoos. He had a bad experience as a small child with a slinky frog toy (it 'chased' him and got tangled around him), and to this day doesn't like frogs. Paul has always loved writing and performing his music for people and would often perform for visitors at his home, not always asked by his parents.

[edit] Musical Background

He has never had formal music training, and plays entirely by ear. His dad bought him his first electric guitar from a pawn shop in Jackson, Mississippi for Christmas when he was about 12. His father's conversations with him from that point on out usually started with, "Turn that down!!". Paul was in 2 previous church bands called "Audience of One" and "Soulfire" in which he sang lead and played rhythm guitar. He was a prolific song writer even then. His songs are based primarily on his life experiences, and those of his friends.
