Paul Martin Andrews
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Paul Martin Andrews is the Virginia boy whose 1973 kidnapping by a known sexual predator put him in an underground box for a week. Thirty years after his ordeal, he went public with his story and became an activist for bolstering Virginia law with additional funding for continued civil commitments for sexual offenders after their criminal sentences end.
In this case, Virginia did not get a chance to test its new Civil Commitment for Sexually Violent Predators Act. That's because another victim came forward, and that earned the perpetrator, Richard "Pee Wee" Ausley, an additional five years on his sentence. And in January, 2004, Ausley was found slain in his prison cell.
