Paul Maas

Paul Maas, professor emeritus Dr P.J.M. Maas (1939), a botanist from the Netherlands, is a specialist in the flora of the neotropics. He is responsible for identifying and naming about two hundred fifty new botanical specimens.

His most recent activity has been research to the family Annonaceae, and along with his spouse Dr. Hiltje Maas-van der Kamer, has also been studying and publishing papers on saprophytic plants from tropical America, such as the family Burmanniaceae.
