Paul Lovens

Paul Lovens was born in Aachen, Germany, 6 June 1949. He plays drums, percussion, singing saw and various selected and unselected cymbals.

Since 1970 he is one of the most prominent drummers in Europe in the improvised music scene.[citation needed] Being part of the Schlippenbach Trio, since then, he played with musicians such as Cecil Taylor, Harri Sjöström, Günther Christmann, Eugene Chadbourne, Teppo Hauta-Aho, Phillipp Wachsmann, and Jöelle Leandre.

Together with Paul Lytton, he ran the record label Po Torch since 1976.
