Paul Huson is a British-born artist and author currently living in the United States. In addition to writing several books about occultism and witchcraft he has worked extensively in the film and television industries.
Huson was born on September 19, 1942 in London, England, the son of the author Edward Richard Carl Huson and painter and motion picture costume designer Olga Lehmann. He received training in painting and design at the Slade School of Fine Art, London University and studied the Western Esoteric Tradition with Dion Fortune's Society of the Inner Light, and Israel Regardie. Amongst his published books are Mastering Witchcraft, a practical guide to witchcraft for the would-be practitioner, as well as 'The Devil's Picture Book' and 'Mystical Origins of the Tarot', two studies of tarot symbolism. The books are illustrated by Huson.
In 1955, Huson took a turn at acting, and appeared in Laurence Olivier's film of Richard III.
From 1965 to 1968 he worked as an Art Director for BBC television and Columbia Pictures, UK.
In 1968 he emigrated to the United States. He lives in Los Angeles with his partner and frequent collaborator, William Bast.
From 1980 onward he has worked chiefly in American television, writing and producing movies and series.
He is a member of the Authors Guild of America, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Writers Guild of America, and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
