Paul Gallen (born August 14, 1981 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian rugby league player for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the National Rugby League competition. Gallen's position of choice is in the Second Row though he has also frequently played at Lock or Five-Eighth. He has on occasions, also filled in capably as a Prop forward. Gallen is now rated among the top players in the NRL at present with his high workrate and powerful runs. He made his debut for New South Wales in the final and decisive State of Origin game of the 2006 series at the Telstra Dome, Melbourne.
