Paul Cook (politician)

Paul Cook has represented California's 65th Assembly district since December of 2006. Prior to his election he served as a member of the Yucca Valley city council from 1998 until 2006.

[edit] Military Career

An infantry officer in the US Marine Corps, Assemblyman Cook's military record spanned twenty-six years. His actions in combat earned him many honors, including the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. Based on his experiences, Assemblyman Cook later taught courses on political violence and terrorism at University of California Riverside.

The 65th district includes the cities of Banning, Beaumont, Big Bear Lake, Calimesa, Cherry Valley, Hemet, Moreno Valley, Perris, San Jacinto, Sun City, Twentynine Palms, Yucaipa, Yucca Valley and other smaller communities and unincorporated areas in Riverside County and San Bernardino County.

Assemblyman Cook is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University where he earned a bachelor of science in teaching. He holds a master's in political science from University of California Riverside and a master's in public administration from California State University, San Bernardino.
