Paul Bernays

Paul Bernays (17 October 1888 – 18 September 1977) was a Swiss mathematician who played a crucial role in the development of mathematical logic in the 20th century. He was an assistant and close collaborator of David Hilbert. His name is linked to Von Neumann–Bernays–Gödel set theory.
