TSgt Paul Airey was shot down on his 28th mission outside of Vienna during WWII. After surviving a 90 day march from the Baltic to Berlin, he was held captive for 10 months as a POW. Paul Airey later became the first Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force in 1967.
