Patty Jackson

A native Philadelphian, Patty Jackson, was born November 4, 1963. She attended South Philadelphia Motivation High School and the American Academy of Broadcasting before embarking on her radio career at WSSJ in Camden, NJ. Her diverse career has included country and urban formats, and she also co-hosted mornings at Q102. But, her warm and soulful voice found its true home with adult radio listeners on 105.3 WDAS-FM.

Patty is the reigning Queen of Mid-days from 10am to 3pm, Monday through Saturday. Patty's brand of realness has kept her audience connected throughout her amazing 24 year broadcasting career. She leaves the shock for the other jocks, because her style is warm and conversational. Patty has interviewed some of entertainment’s biggest names including Quincy Jones, Denzel Washington, Smokey Robinson, Susan Taylor, Iyanla Vanzant, and Lee Daniels to name a few. During her interviews you feel like there are only 3 people in the room-you, Patty, and the A-list celebrity. She’s in the know, and keeps you up to date on the who’s who in entertainment.

Although she remains the undeniable female adult voice in radio, her talents extend far beyond. Patty has penned a weekly entertainment column in the Philadelphia Tribune for over 10 years, and her columns have been circulated national through the internet. She is also the official voice of welcome and information at the Philadelphia International Airport. Travelers from all over the world are greeted by Patty’s warm and inviting voice. Television is also on the horizon. Patty has hosted several telethons and AM Philly, and recently co-hosted NBC’s 10!

Patty and that voice are entrenched within Philadelphia. You will recognize her voice on the Women’s History Month and Black Music Months vignette series, which air yearly on WDAS-FM. Patty has always strived to be a good person, so naturally she is very committed to community and civic endeavors, and reliously donates her time to events including the annual AIDS and Diabetes walks, and the annual Breast Cancer “Race for a Cure”. She is also the Co-chair of this year’s National Woman’s Heart Day Campaign.

In 1995 Patty received the Communicator of the Year Award from the national MBA Association, and has been nominated for several awards including the Billboard/Airplay Monitor Radio Awards Local Air Personality of the Year. Last year Patty was honored by the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists when she was awarded for her outstanding Community Service, and an A.I.R. award for Milestone in radio.

Patty’s talents are endless, and she is also an exceptional cook. Her spicy seafood salad is to die for. In fact, Patty is currently shopping a proposal for her own weekly cooking show.
