From the age of four Patrick Griffin was honing his skills as the captain and star of the St. Bede's Preparatory school football team. At 9 he was awarded a sports scholarship to Ardingly College. A shock approach from FK Zalgiris Vilnius led to his playing abroad at the age of 17.

Patrick endured an indifferent start to his FK Zalgiris Vilnius career, being substituted in his first starting appearance after conceding a penalty, despite scoring a hatrick. Griffin remianed on the fringes until First choice centre back, Zoltan Varenius, retired. He was given the second start of his FK Zalgiris Vilnius career at this point, and was awarded man of the match for his display by FK Zalgiris Vilnius website (http://www.vfk-zalgiris.lt/) Many media reports on the game focused on his determination, confidence, and skill.

On 7 August 2006 he completed a season loan move to Folkford.
