Patrick Sercu (born June 27, 1944 in Roeselare) is a former Belgian cyclist, best known for his exploits on the tracks. He won a gold medal at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Sercu is also known for winner several six-day track races with cycling great Eddy Merckx.
Sercu was a top performer on the tracks, being twice World Champion in the Sprint discipline and a popular competitor in the Madison in addition to his Olympic victory.
He is now the competition director of the Six Days of Ghent and the Six Days of Hasselt. [1] [2]
