Patrick Forge

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Patrick Forge is a jazz, jazz dance and soul DJ who who spent much of the late 1980s and early 1990s djing alongside Gilles Peterson at the famous Dingwalls club in Camden, North London.

Back in the 80s, Patrick worked in Reckless Records in London, and worked on the pirate radio station Kiss. He is originally from Ipswich in Suffolk.

When Kiss 100 FM was given a legal licence in September 1990, Patrick became one of its DJs with a once-a-week show.

His current show on Kiss 100, The Cosmic Jam from 0100 to 0300 on Sunday, dovetails perfectly with his old colleague Gilles Peterson who is on BBC Radio 1 from 2300 to 0100.

The two djs play similar styles of music, have played at numerous clubs and also music weekenders. If anything Patrick strays more into Latin jazz styles nowadays than Gilles, but has also been known to drop tracks from Crosby Stills and Nash, Pentangle, America and Ellen McIlwaine

He is a member of Da Lata.
