Patrick Adams

Patrick Peter Owen Adams, March 17, 1950, Harlem, New York City, New York, US is an American musician and music producer. He is known primarily his productions on the New York-based Salsoul and Prelude recording labels and his associations with various musicians Jocelyn Brown, Loleatta Holloway, Leroy Burgess) and bands (The Universal Robot Band, Logg, Musique).

Writing, producing, arranging and engineering for many of the finest artists during his career. He wrote some of the greatest disco hits of the 70's, songs like "Keep on jumping" and "(Push, push) In the bush" by Musique, later covered two times and a worldwide hit twice in 1996-97. Both by Lisa Marie Experience and by Todd Terry presents Martha Wash and Jocelyn Brown. Jocelyn was hitting the charts again singing the same song again, 18 years later. Another classic is "I'm Caught Up (In a One Night Love Affair)" by Inner Life.
During his career Patrick have had over 300 of his songs recorded and he have been involved in over 1000 recordings; Sister Sledge, Loleatta Holloway, Main Ingredient, Shannon, Spinners, Gladys Knight, Skipworth & Turner, Candi Staton, Eddie Kendricks, Herbie Mann, Bumblebee Unlimited, Universal Robot Band, Narada Michael Walden, Ace Spectrum, Rick James, Cloud One and Bruni Pagan. More recent acts mentionable for example Coolio, Cathy Dennis, Keith Sweat, Teddy Riley, R. Kelly, Eric B & Rakim, Salt-N-Pepa and Shades of Love. He have also recently worked with the legendary vocalist Jeanie Tracy. Rainbow Brown's great "'Till You Surrender" was covered in 1997 by the UK DJ Joey Negro as "Surrender" and by Rainbow Connection. He gave this great classic a new up to date sound with vocals by Taka Boom, who happens to be best friends with the singer of the original - namely Fonda Rae.
In 1997, Patrick received the ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Award for the third time and for the second year in a row. In 1997 he got it for "Keep on jumpin'" and in 1996 he was honored for the Number 1 dance song "Keep in touch (Body to body)" by the Shades of Love. Cathy Dennis' remake of the classic Patrick Adams/Greg Carmichael penned and produced "Touch me (All Night Long)". It became a #1 hit single for her in 1991 and Patrick and Greg received the 1992 ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Award for this remake. Patrick has 32 GOLD RECORDS on the wall.
