Patones is a Madrilian town with 354 inhabitants divided in two municipalities: Patones de Arriba and Patones de Abajo.

  • Altitude: 834 m.
  • Extension: 35 km².
  • Distance from Madrid: 60 km.

Some archaeological traces have been found in the so-called Cueva del Reguerillo. A 2nd century Celtic campament was also found in 1974

Patones de Arriba had 7 inhabitants in 1555 and was a part of Úceda. This is the most touristic part of the town.

Patones de Abajo was created in 1940 after the Spanish Civil War. This part contains modern buildings.

  • Ermita de la Vírgen de la Oliva (Olive Virgin’s Hermitage)

It's a romanesque-mudéjar hermitage 4 km far from Patones. It was built in 12th and 13 centuries.
