Patna Science College

Patna Science College is an institution of higher science education located near the Ganges River in Bihar, India. The institution is a centre of international fame in the field of higher education under Patna University.

It was started in 1927 as Science Department under Patna College and formally opened on November 15, 1928 by the then Viceroy, Lord Irwin. The College is equally famous for its research and development activities. The growth in number of science students and the need for the expansion of the physics and chemistry laboratories made it necessary for the Arts and Science departments to get separated.

Since 1928, Patna Science College has grown both in physical facilities and academic status. Five different laboratories are located in separate buildings. Currently, physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, geology, mathematics, statistics and various vocational courses are being offered in this premier institution.
