Pathlight School

Pathlight School is a school for autistic children in Singapore. It opened in January 2004 and currently has more than 240 students, aged 6 to 16.

In addition to providing an autism-friendly environment for education in mainstream academic curriculum, Pathlight School offers special educational programmes to impart life skills for students with autism and related disorders.

In January 2006, Pathlight School opened a special Starbucks cafe, known as Café@Pathlight, to teach some of its students, aged 12 and 15, simple work and life skills. ^[1]

To prepare for the opening of Café@Pathlight, volunteers and staff of the Pathlight School underwent 3 to 4 weeks of training with Starbucks so that they can later impart the skills and knowledge to the students.
