While their website is extensive and full of photographs and information, the company provided little specific information about its size, number of staff members, locations, operations or clients. The company does not provide any information of other members of their management team, besides Mr. Clifton, which is rumored to include active members of law enforcement, former military special operations personnel and graduates of Executive Security International.[citation needed]

Reports indicate the PSS maintains several contracts for various international mining and oil companies; providing consulting on international security issues and on-site security services in Wyoming, Colorado and other western states but specific information is not widely disseminated. This seems to be cultivated by Pathfinder and leads many to assume that they are involved in more then regular ‘security guard’ services.[citation needed]

These 'other' services are rumored to include a covert civilian intelligence unit that is used, in a legal way, to collect data on and research threats and groups that threaten their client’s interests. This is not listed on their website yet is widely known within the domestic private security industry.[citation needed]

Pathfinder also maintains a very secretive group that is reportedly available to assist private ranches, corporations holding federal and state land leases for minerals exploration and development, and non-profit conservation groups in combating illegal poaching; apparently the only group like this in the country organized in a formal way.[citation needed]

Media stories about this firm and its Director are few but do allude to ‘other’ activities while remaining extremely vague.[citation needed]
