Pathanapuram is a taluk (similar to a county) in the eastern part of the Kollam District of Kerala, India. It covers an area of 248.32 km² and has a population of 157,000.[citation needed] Its main industries are rubber plantations, dairy and poultry farming, brick making, bamboo weaving, and cashew farming.
