[edit] High school career
As a 5 foot 8 inch 160 pound freshman kicker/punter at Wossman High School, Williams broke his leg, enabling him to gain 80 pounds over one year. As a sophomore, he stood at 5 foot 11 inches, weighing in at 240, which led to the nickname "Fat Pat," given to him by Wossman High School assistant head coach James Egeberg. Williams went on to have an unbelievable high school career, compiling 43 sacks, 154 tackles, 6 forced fumbles, 8 fumble recoveries, 1 interception, and 3 defensive touchdowns.
