Pat Malone

Pat Malone also known as Perce Leigh Malone (born September 25, 1902, died May 13, 1943) was a pitcher in Major League Baseball. He pitched for the Chicago Cubs from 1928 to 1934, and for the New York Yankees from 1935 to 1937.

He won 20 games for the Cubs in both 1929 and 1930. He was also one of the premier strikeout artists of the late 1920's and early 1930's. He struck out 166 batters (tops in the National League in 1929, and also led the league in wins (baseball), and also shutouts, and finished fourth in the league in ERA. In 1930, he struck out 142 batters, good for third in the league. From the time period from 1928-1934, no one struck out more batters.
