Pat Kelly (comedian)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pat Kelly is a comedian from Calgary, Alberta. He was trained at Loose Moose Theatre in Calgary, and was a host for YTV, a Canadian cable channel for kid's programming. Pat is also an alumnus of Toronto's Second City mainstage.
Pat was the star of the Dave Thomas film, Intern Academy, a comedy featuring Canada's top comedic talent, including Dan Akroyd, Peter Oldring and Dave Foley. He's also making his career as the young love interest with such family films as Crimes of Fashion and Twitches.
Pat Kelly became interested in acting at the Western Canada High School in Calgary. Like many comics, he had a secret desire to be a rock star, and he was a rocker for both The Dudes and The Infernos. Pat is a singer and drummer.
Pat recounts an incident from his youth that was added to the FUBAR movie by Paul Spence:
- "I had a massive crush on this girl and it was slightly reciprocated, but she came to my grad – she was in Grade 11 – with me as my date. When we were at the after-graduation party, I sort of tried to take it another step further and she denied me and then there was alcohol involved and I just became an asshole. It took me a while to live that one down. Paul Spence (FUBAR) was there and he started fuelling my outrage at being turned down and so it turned into a FUBAR scene."
Pat often works with Peter Oldring, a fellow Calgarian comedian. Currently they are working on an online comedy podcast called Good Morning World.
