Pat Kavanagh (agent)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pat Kavanagh is a distinguished British literary agent.
She is married to the writer Julian Barnes, whose agent she is. They live in North London.
She is famously the ex-agent of Martin Amis, who left her after 23 years to 'throw in his lot' with American agent, Andrew Wylie, nicknamed the Jackal [1]. The decision is believed to have been the end of Amis's friendship with Barnes.
Jeanette Winterson's novel "Written on the Body" is said to have some basis in her affair with Kavanagh [2].
