Talk:Password (TV series)

"and eventually the saddest story in game show history was about to be written: Allen Ludden had cancer." While I agree with this, I think it needs some NPOV tweaking. Mcfly85 06:26, 13 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed split

I didn't place the {{split}} tag in the article, but I'll go ahead and start the discussion. Kickaha Ota 20:30, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Oppose. It appears to be fairly common for multiple incarnations of a show to be covered in a single article. If the article were larger, then splitting it could be more necessary; but its size seems manageable as it is, and having all the formats on one page helps the reader see how the game evolved over time. • Support. Let's face facts, people. There are more than a few things in this article that need to be split. The article is too large, and the game shows should be separate from the game itself. Plus, I believe that the original Password should have its own page, and the succeeding versions (Plus and Super) should have their own. --172.168.43.139 16:42, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Comment The article is written as if the parlor game predated the TV show. This seems wrong. User:Lambertman 17:55, 28 August 2006 (UTC) I fixed that not long after posting this. Lambertman 19:24, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Support. This article is getting pretty long, so I would support an eventual split to separate the NBC versions out into a single article. I don't see the need to create separate Plus and Super articles at this point, though. Erechtheus 20:23, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
  • Oppose. The article's length is reasonable when you consider it contains a tremendous amount of minutiae about scoring systems, celebrity guests and theme music. Chris319 01:15, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
  • Oppose for now. The article is not even long enough to come up as a warning when editing. I do not believe it to be that long. Also, if the article is split now, we will have a smaller article here, yes, but we will also have several new stubs that need work. WP has enough stubs as it is without purposely creating more through splitting. Wait until there is enough info for a new full article first and then split. – CobraWiki 05:38, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
  • Support. The article has gotten particularly long, and each version has enough information to make seperate articles. FamicomJL 02:06, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Support. A split of the 1961-75 versions and the Plus/Super versions would be suitable. Scrabbleship 14:50, 18 December 2006 (UTC) (originally written 15:41, December 17, 2006 (UTC)}}

[edit] 1963 Theme Song

What proof is there to confirm that Bob Cobert's theme song was called "You Know The Password?" I thought there was no name to the song. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.131.4.133 (talk) 04:47, 5 January 2007 (UTC).

I've heard it being called that over at GSN.com AND invision, but I do wonder what that conclusion came to. Nontheless, it's a great theme. FamicomJL 19:10, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

After checking the Game Show Invision board, the only mention of a name for Bob Cobert's theme name is "Frank's Theme." The GSN Board claims that the name is "You Know The Password." According to this website, there is no name, aside from what they have listed: "Password Theme" (66.131.4.133)
