[edit] Pasta salad

Pasta salad is an Australian Cuisine. It became especially popular during the 1990's when the Mrs Crockets company launched in supermarket stores across Australia. It is made up of cooked pasta pieces (usually either shell pasta, elbow shaped pasta or Penne) covered in mayonnaise and accompanied by carrots, capsicum (bell peppers), and sometimes celery. It is similar is style to the American Macaroni salad.

Another form of Pasta Salad consists of the cooked pasta then usually (but not exclusivly) cooked poultry or grilled pepper in a strongly flavoured sauce (for example, Caesar sauce) and occasionally, other condiments, such as ground pepper or cheese. These are then tossed together so the sauce is evenly distributed with the pasta and meat/pepper and served either still warm or cold.
