Passopisciaro is a frazione of the comune of Castiglione di Sicilia. It is situated 12km from Castiglione di Sicilia and Linguaglossa and is 8km from Randazzo. It is situated on the Northern Slopes of Mt. Etna at 645m above sea level. The frazione can be accessed from Fiumefreddo di Sicilia by taking the SS120, which has existed since Roman times or by the Circumetnea Railway. Nowadays Passopisciaro has a population of about 500 but in years gone by the population was as high as 1500 people. Passopisciaro's main industry is wine making , vineyards can be found scattered throughout the entire region.
