Passage is the 1996 album by Swiss metal band Samael. On this album, the band suddenly started making a much more intensive use of keyboards and industrial sounds, getting further away from their thrash/black metal roots and progressing into the industrial dark metal genre. Lyrically, the band also abandoned their satanic themes and veered more towards the occult and the mystical.
Aside from being very different from its predecessors, Passage is also more accessible, and can be credited for helping Samael leave the underground scene and giving the band a much larger audience.
A video for "Jupiterian Vibe" was made, and received airplay on MTV's Headbanger's Ball.
All the lyrics are credited to Vorph and all the music is credited to Xy.
The album was produced by Waldemar Sorychta.
