Pascal's Furniture

J. Pascal's Furniture and Hardware Company Limited was a furniture and hardware retailer. The Montreal, Quebec retailer competed with the upstart Edmonton based The Brick and established Toronto retailer Leon's. Pascal operated 20 hardware and furniture stores in the provinces of Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick before going bankrupt in the 1990s.

Pascal's was founded by Mr Maxwell S. Pascal (1901-1989), President of J. Pascal Hardware Co. Ltd. He was Consul for the Republic of Korea in Montreal, General Chairman of Montreal's Combined Jewish Appeal-United Israel Appeal (1958), President of the Baronde Hirsch Institute, and Member of National Council of American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. He married Florence Bloomfield in 1936 (d. 1956).
