Hi, thanks for your efforts about the Babek picture. Unfortunately, it seems those CAIS people failed to tell you that they themselves based their page on Wikipedia, both the text (which is obviously based on the earlier text we had here) and probably the image (their copy seems to be a scaled-down version of ours, which in turn was taken earlier from the azeripainting site.) And of course, they've provided no explanation how they came to own the painter's copyright. Do they own the original painting? - Sorry, but I can't see how they can then license that thing back to us. Fut.Perf. ☼ 21:48, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, but the point is really, it doesn't matter terribly much where they got the electronic file from (though it's probably from us). What matters is that they are unlikely to have the actual painting in their possession, or that they have bought all the rights to it from the Azeri painter. Uh, of course I mean the guy you refered to here [1], and who is credited as the painter on the original image upload page, Image:Babek.jpg: "by Azeri painter Sadıq Şərifzadə. 1944. Hi ParthianShot! and thanks for your contributions. I have seen you added Dr Darabi's photo to Iranian women's movement page. If you don't mind I would like to transfer the image to "Human rights in Iran" (the section on women). The reason is that the former article mainly discuss what women achieved themselves and not what others did to them. "Human rights in Iran/section on women" instead discuss what others did to women. It's not me but you who had deleted information from the article. If you consider that it was first you who had reverted my edits, than you would realize how funny to leave a message in my talk page about 3R rule. However, i'm open to discussions about the article. Please explain why you have removed my referenced information from the article ?

With regard to your statement, I have not removed the citations that you have provided, but reinstated in a scholarly manner, than POV Pushing (please see: Wikipedia:Neutral point of view policy. However, Vandalism is not a personal attack but a Wikipedia policy which is being observed by Wikipedians. Salam!

Please see [2]. We need to change the WP:MoS for Persian transliteration. MoS forces us to use Arabic transliteration for Persian words. It makes no sense. Please see the problem I have now on transliteration of Kiarostami. [3]

Hi. I believe is a great idea and necessary one to create Persian transliteration. I suppose we have two options here - we can either deploy David N, Mackenzie’s transliteration, which is based on his predecessors, i.e. Richelt and Jackson, which currently is the model for the pre-Islamic Iranian languages, or Encyclopaedia Iranica. EI has number of extra constants, such as ح, ذ, ص, ض, ط, ظ, ع, ث and it is similar to Arabic WP:AMOS, (in Persian we do not pronounce them). Yes please add Mackenzie’s transliteration. I strongly think we need to have a separate article for persian. Unfortunately this is a topic I am not familiar with. But I can appreciate the importance of having a well-defined and independent MoS for persian. Apart from technical issues, the examples used in MoS-Arabic are very annoying (Al-qaeda, Saddam, Abdel Nasser, Muawwieh, ...) Thanks. Sangak 09:25, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi Galador - He was betrayed by Afshin, since both were Iranians, and were fighting for a common cause, i.e. to end the Arab rule in Iran. I believe most comprehensive article about Babak, has been written by Professor Gh. H. I think to make it clear it would be better to put a sentence such as, "Nationalists consider al-Afshin was betraying his Iranian roots by opposing Babak," right after mentioning him leading forces against Babak. Have you read the material that comes later in at Tabari about Afshin's intriguing with Mazyar and other allegations made against Afshin after his arrest in 840? Hi, Partian shot. I'm fine with removing al here. I'm also happy with thinking about the wording of the betrayal explanation. The thing is if someone just reads at the end that Afshin betrayed Babak to the caliph, it doesn't make sense, because it seems Afshin was the caliph's general who defeated Babak and brought in a captured rebel. So, I think as soon as it's mentioned that Afshin is fighting against Babak it needs to be said some consider Afshin's fighting as betrayal. Then that could be specified.
