Talk:Paronym
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I think this should be a redirect to cognate. As it is, it sounds like a dictionary def. Any objections? Quadell 20:12, May 7, 2004 (UTC)
- Absolutely none! I came here myself to suggest that the two concepts, if compared in one entry, would give each other holistic weight that is missing here. Wetman 21:13, 12 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Then, this is wrong: "a paronym is a cognate word"? This should be changed in the article ?? --Edcolins 21:21, Aug 12, 2004 (UTC)
Are continuous and contiguous considered paronyms? if so, add them to the example list. In fact, just expand the list into realism. --SuperDude 04:36, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Lexical Categories
This artical used the term "lexical category" to describe what a paronym is. I'm changing this because I'm pretty sure this term means what is often called 'part of speech', and its use here makes no sense. mkehrt 06:38, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
