wish list:
- how did she get a doctorate while also being university president?
- I will ask my wife, see what she knows. My wife is a Sungshim HS grad, 3 years ahead of Geunhye. --Dan 18:53, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- According to the Yeongnam University site [1], she was not president but chair of the board of trustees. My wife expresses a high degree of certainty that her doctorate from a Taiwan University is honorary and politically motivated. She says such things are very common for people who are well-connected in Korea. --Dan 15:50, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- how closely involved in PCH administration?
- not understanding this. She was a young woman, student when her father was in power, & the PCH administration was largely military/male. Women were not in political (or economic) power at the time. --Dan 18:53, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- relationship to recent inquiries into PCH legacy?
- I wonder what her political views are, where she'll take the country if elected president. My impression is she plays her cards pretty close to her chest, and is in the Hannaradang because of her family connection and because it's what the folks who elected her to legislature want. I suspect she's more liberal than most of her party, but I don't really have anything to pin that on. --Dan 18:53, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] attack on Park Geunhye
yesterday 7.30pm local time (seoul), when Park Geunhye was about to give a speech outside Shinchon Hyundai Shopping complex, a man in his 50s attacked Park with a knife and Park suffered an injury (laceration) to her face. she had had received a treatment until 11.15pm, needed up to 60 stitches. she will need months to fully recover from her injury and her ability of speech will be affect the most. The attacker just missed Park's facial artery by mere 0.5cm 202.37.68.56 17:07, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
