Just a note to any potential editors - Progress on this portal will be difficult until the Paris 'Categories' can be cleaned up - this is going to take a 'tried hand' and lots of pens and paper to do. Myself I won't have the time until at least the second week of this month - but anyone who can help, please do!

Everything above "Paris introduction" really needs to go. Wikipedia's strength is that is is easy to dive straight into the information, but as this is now, none of that is visible, when you open this portal, and you have to scroll down a page to find the business end of things. On another point, I just don't see why you think the Paris categories are a problem. I did much of the work myself, and I am one of the most experienced categorisers in the English Wikipedia. I'm sorry to hear that you dislike the present layout; in fact, yours is the first negative comment I've heard about it. Thanks for the Category cleanup - it's obvious by my errors that I have much to learn in that regard. The category 'problem' had also to do with 'missing' topics (comparing to Portal:London here), but this perhaps is more a 'missing article' problem than anything. It's been a while since I've done the rounds, so in looking again I will note any problems I find this time and leave a more precise summary. Thanks again. THEPROMENADER 00:51, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

I like the big photo of the tower and "Paris Portal" in distinctive lettering. It's a fun page and it breaks up the layout monotony of Wikipedia! Massysett 03:27, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Paris Stubs

A lot of stubs concerning Paris are labelled with "{{IledeFrance-geo-stub}} ", which translates to : "This Île-de-France geographical article is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it."

However, I could find a "paris stub" template.. does it exist ? Should we make one ?
