Parkview High School is a public high school located in Springfield, Missouri. Parkview was the second high school built in Springfield after Central High School. Parkview graduated its first class in 1956. The next year a new wing was constructed due to the large number students enrolling. In 1992 an auditorium was added to Parkview for its music and drama productions. In 2001 a new music room and renovations to other classrooms where finished. The most recent changes to Parkview have been the demolition of an old wing and the adding a new wing to replace it completed at the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year. The schools news show is called Vike Vision. The school's mascot is a Viking. Parkview has an ID policy that requires students to wear an ID badge; if their badge is lost or vandalized, they are required to get a new one for US$5.
