Park Hill School District

An accredited school district in Platte County, Missouri. The mission of the Park Hill School District is to provide educational opportunities that promote lifelong learning to prepare every person to be a productive and responsible citizen in a diverse, changing society. The district has two high schools, Park Hill High School and Park Hill South High School, three middle schools, and nine elementary schools. The Park Hill School District is Accredited with Distinction by the state of Missouri. Park Hill School District earns the Distinction in Performance Award from the state of Missouri every year. Park Hill School District is "What Parents Want", according to the "School Match" program.
The current Superientendent is Dr. Dennis Fisher, who became superintendent on July 1, 2005.
He came to Park Hill in July 1999 as the Assistant Superintendent for Business Services and became the Deputy Superintendent in July 2001. In September 2004, the Board of Education chose Dr. Fisher to replace Dr. Gayden Carruth when she retired on June 30, 2005.
Dr. Fisher has 30 years of experience in education. Before coming to Park Hill, he was the interim superintendent and the assistant superintendent for business services in Liberty, Mo. Before that, he was a principal at a junior high in Glenwood, Iowa. He started his career as a social studies teacher at a junior high in Papillion, Neb.
A native of Ottumwa, Iowa, Dr. Fisher received several degrees from the University of Nebraska – Omaha, and his educational doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Dr. Fisher is a leader among his peers. He served as president of the Missouri Association of School Business Officials as well as the Kansas City Association of School Business Officials. He currently sits on the board of directors for the Missouri Securities Investment Program (MOSIP). [1]
