Parental Control is a reality television show aired on the MTV Network.

The show begins with two parents who hate their daughter's, or son's boyfriend/girlfriend, so they interview a number of potential candidates to be their daughter's or son's new boyfriend/girlfriend. Each parent picks one of the candidates they interviewed to go on a date with their son/daughter. While each of the two dates are happening, the parents and the old boyfriend/girlfriend are sitting in the same room watching the dates on a TV. This always leads to lots of arguments between the parents and the boyfriend/girlfriend. When both of the dates are finished, the girl/guy must choose who (s)he wants to keep going out with: The candidate the mom chose, the candidate the dad chose, or the old boyfriend/girlfriend whom their parents hate.

A majority of the time, it is the parents trying to find their daughter a new boyfriend, but occasionally, the genders are reversed, such that the parents are trying to find a new girlfriend for their son. The show also shows parents of gay children trying to find new relationships. In one episode the teen son proposed to his girlfriend.
