Parent-Teacher Night is an episode of Invader Zim, originally produced as episode 3A, but aired as episode 2A on April 6, 2001. The voices of the robo-parents (with respect to the image above) are done by Michael McDonald and Mo Collins, two comedians who were regulars on the sketch show MADtv.
[edit] Plot
Zim is told by Ms. Bitters to bring his parents to "Parent Teacher Night." Zim objects, telling her that he never agreed to that. She replied "Yes you did." Zim screams "You lie!!!". Miss Bitters then makes reveals a TV screen behind the chalkboard show a video of Miss Bitters asking if his parents would come to parent-teacher night. He replies "Yeah, sure, whatever". Worried, Zim tells Gir to expose the robot-parents to a parent training video; but when Gir shows them television instead, havoc ensues that night. During the ordeal, Robodad contracts a bad case of diarrhea. Zim manages to subdue them, however, and they fly away (of course, no one notices). Dib gets attacked when he throws a punch out of frustration.
[edit] Trivia
- In this episode, Zim has four fingers, while he only has three in others
- The way in which Zim makes his "parents" watch the parent training video is, quite obviously, a reference to The Ludovico Technique from A Clockwork Orange.
