Paramount Theatre (Cedar Rapids, Iowa)

The Paramount Theatre in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, opened September 1, 1928, as the Capital Theater, but was renamed in 1929 when it was purchased by Paramount Pictures. In 1974 it was sold to the City of Cedar Rapids and was completely renovated. It is home to the Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra, the Cedar Rapids Area Theatre Organ Society, and Community Concerts. It is famous for its Mighty Wurlitzer theater organ.
