Paralakhemundi

Paralakhemundi is a city in Orissa state of eastern India. It is the administrative headquarters of Gajapati District.

It is a very beautiful town, famous for handwork. It is surrounded by green hills and forests and located on banks of river Mahendra Tanaya. The town is famous for its old palaces. It has a diverse cultural mix with significant numbers of people speaking different languages - Oriya, Telugu, and Hindi. It is at the border of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh. There are many tourist attractions in and around the town:

  • Jagannath Temple
  • The Maa kadamokhandi Temple
  • The royal palace of King Gajapati
  • Schools include Saraswati Sishu Mandir, Govt High School Modern English School, Public School,
  • The JITM Engg. College.

Paralakhemundi can be reached by flying to Visakhapatnam, and you can prefer any bus to go to there.It will take only 4hours
