Paraguarí

Paraguarí is a city in Paraguay. It is the capital of the Paraguarí Department.

Located 60 km south-east of Asunción, Paraguarí is the main hub for commerce for surrounding districts like Escobar, Sapucai and Caballero. People usually come into the small city to sell their goods. Paraguari has a diverse collection of statues, for example a soldier from the Chaco War adorns one of the squares, as does a bust of a character from the 1960s movie series Planet of the Apes.

Paraguari used to be one of the main stations for the Paraguayan Railroad. It also has a branch of the National Bank, Banco de Fomento.
