Parabolic_dish_stationary.png (256 × 256 pixel, file size: 7 KB, MIME type: image/png)
Description:
The image shows a rotating parabolic dish as seen from a co-rotating point of view. The dish is solid and it has exactly the same shape as a fluid rotating at that angular velocity has. The dark dot is a puck that can slide over the surface with very little friction. When the puck is co-rotating with the dish, then it will neither climb up the slope nor slump down.
