Welcome!

Hello, PantheraLeo, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

In addition to welcoming you, I wanted to include the above helpful links to prevent some problems I noticed with your edit to Talk:Village of the Giants. First, you should never replace existing discussions with your own text. One is supposed to add one's posting to the end of the page (or end of a topic's section), allowing readers and editors to follow the flow of discussion. (This is different from article editing, which only presents the current state.) Second, the proper way to sign a talk-page post is using four tildes as described above, which the wiki editor converts to your username (with a link to your user page) and a UTC timestamp, which is very important in trying to follow discussion threads. Finally, please do not remove the {{FilmsWikiProject}} template from the top of the discussion page. This has become the standard way of tagging films monitored by the project. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a note on my talk page. Thank you for your cooperation. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 02:08, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

… I can't say I won't make any more mistakes, as to err is human, heck I may even be doing this wrong by where I'm adding this at the moment for all I know..but at least it's one less thing to worry about doing wrong now. I hope you will continue to assist or be a lending voice of knowledge when I am unsure on how to go about something or have done something wrong not realizing I have done so. There are a lot of rules to read through. I tried to read a lot of them but I'm sure there are many more I have yet to learn. … PantheraLeo 02:42, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
Don't worry too much about making mistakes; anything we edit can be fixed if necessary. The traditional wiki way to learn is by doing, as suggested by the Wikipedia motto, "be bold!". (And you aren't kidding about the quantity of rules. That's why there are many places where we try to reinforce the idea that Wikipedia is very flexible, like the five pillars article mentioned in the standard welcome message above, and other helpful pages like Wikipedia:Simplified Ruleset.) As far as I'm concerned, you're already doing one thing better than most — using edit summaries, which are always a good idea, even for minor edits. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 03:14, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:AIV

Hey, I just wanted to follow up on your request for admin intervention upon User:207.67.17.70. I blocked the user for a period of one week for vandalism and page blanking, and I just wanted to let you know that you placed the request in the correct place. Also, for future reference, try to warn the user for vandalism upon reverting his/her edits because I know that some other admins may have seen that the last warning was dated on the 13th, and the user had not received a warning since then. They would then leave the vandal alone, and not block them. I usually take note of the user's contributions before I look at the talk page, so I will block if I see some negative edits. But in general, it is ideal to see a few warnings on the actual day that the vandalism occurred. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thanks, and happy editing! Nishkid64 21:47, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Also, do not remove messages from your talk page (even if they are old). Nishkid64 21:49, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Oh yeah. Just as I was posting a message "You have been blocked for one week" on the user talk page, a fellow admin Mr. Lefty added a t4 warning just so it would correspond with the day of vandalism. Nishkid64 21:50, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A Welcome

Hey there. Just noticed you were helping out the Macrophilia page, and wanted to great you as one Macrofurry to another. I haven't seen a lot of them on here, so I make it my duty to greet them when I do see one. Thanks for helping out the page, and I hope you continue to do so, as that page is a bit lacking at the moment really. I've done my best, but even still, the fact that it's so unsourced bothers me. Anyway, drop me a line if you have any questions, comments, etc., and of course, happy editing. Galactor213 20:38, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Heya. Nice to meet a fellow macro around here. Yeah there really isn't much there at the moment which is a shame. Some keep trying to remove the section while others add non macro furry images. Its a shame that it lost its own page as now that it is just bunched into the Macrophilia area it seems to be forgotten. But we will do what we can to give it the proper represenation it deserves. Anyway Ill catcha around. Always good to see a fellow macro around these parts. Catcha later!!! PantheraLeo 18:34, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Revisions/disputes

Panthera: About revisions and disputes: please put your comments on the Talk page for an article, instead of simmply reverting someone's changes willy-nilly, especially when there is a dispute among people who have edited said article more than you have. That way, you can try to avoid the back and forth of revisions and reverts, especially if the edits you make don't make the article more clear or any better.

This is a quote from the Resolving Disputes wiki article: "Be respectful to others and their points of view. This means primarily: Do not simply revert changes in a dispute. When someone makes an edit you consider biased or inaccurate, improve the edit, rather than reverting it. Provide a good edit summary when making significant changes that other users might object to. The revision you would prefer will not be established by reverting, and repeated reverting is forbidden; discuss disputed changes on the talk page."

Also, a suggestion on reverts: if you're going to do them back and forth, please preview your edits; the last one you did to the McCarthy page seemed done in haste, and had errors. The sentence is now different, placed in a new location, and conveys the information "once." It think it works well as is. Good luck! Info999 22:40, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Please see your talk for my response to this. Sorry for posting it at first in your user info page. You should really add some user info to help people learn more about you and get yourself out there. But that of course is up to you. But anyway sorry for posting it in user accidently, first time for everything and has thus been fixed. Anyway I said all I will there and hope that this is all taken care of now so all sides are happy. Please remember to respect me as well before demanding respect in return. Thank you kindly. And happy editing. Look forward to working with you again in the future here on Wikipedia. Have a good one. PantheraLeo 23:20, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Slimer

I have removed the trivia section from this article as unencyclopedic. Be aware that another revert on this page withing 24 hours of the original means you have violated WP:3RR and will be blocked. -Mask? 18:15, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

You are 100% wrong here but so be it. Its subjective and the rules do protect trivia sections. But hey go play your games folks. I don't care anymore. This is a joke how its run here and very sad how you people think that you can bully other folks around and not even follow your own rules. Wow ban me. Big deal. People aren't allowed to do things when they are following the rules. Wow I can't post anyway as some nerd hides behind a rule they made up anyway. Oh no how will I ever get by without being able to edit Slimer? My life is over now.. Nerds what ever.. Thats all I have to say.. you really showed me.. oh how will I ever get on with my life now knowing this? Thats all I got to say... nerd!! PantheraLeo 18:29, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Um... okay. I kind of think that reply speaks for itself, but just to summarize my admin action I blocked you for 48 hours for incivility, at Mask's request. When that period expires you can come back and discuss the beef you have with our guidelines and why you like the essay better, or whatever. Shii (tock) formerly Ashibaka 18:51, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Abuse things all you want. When you stop the voice of the people you are not an admin but a dictator. Thats fine. I have nothing more to say. Ban me, slap me send your crew after me. Remove my account. It matters not. I have a right to be here just as everyone else does and I did follow the rules which clealry say that Trvia is allowed and its subjective. You want to back one of your own or throw your weight around.. you did. Congrats. Ill wait out my 48 hours and talk to you more then if you so want to. Its really sad how things are run here and I will be writing Mr. Wales to let him know the way you guys do things here. I'm sure he will be most interested in seeing the bully tactics you use to get your way on things. Good day. See you in 48 hours. PantheraLeo 19:38, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
