[edit] Proper English rendering of the game's name!

Okay, what exactly is the English version of the Japanese words constituting the name of this game? Is it "Panel De Pon" or "Paneru De Pon"? And is "de" like in French or is it a word unto itself, in which case it should be spelled "De", not "de". Can someone out there who knows Japanese tell us what these words mean? What's a "Panel" if taken as the English version of a Japanese word? Or should it be "Paneru" after all? Please help! And while you're at it, please add the answer to the page itself...

Thanks!

Well, on the box of Nintendo Puzzle Collectio, it was written as PANEL DE PON. I believe it says the same thing in the game credits in both versions. I don't think "de" should be cpatalized. Also, remember that Super Smash Bros. Melee titled it as "Panel de Pon"68.38.52.238 19:14, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

The game has you aligning panels. That's what "Panel" means. Please, if you don't know about this game, don't contribute. PsychoJosh 08:59, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

We will know if "de" should be capitalized if someone who knows Japanese can tell us what the actual translation is. In French, "de" means something. In English, "de" is more like "duhhh". If it is just a made-up name by Nintendo, that's fine too, but either way, the answer should be in the page.
But remember in Super Smash Bros. Melee, the trophy description of Lip's Stick titles the game as Panel de Pon, the "de" lowercased.68.38.52.238 20:48, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Necessary information

Now that I've cleaned the page up we need info on this version of the game; mainly its story, influences and characters, as well as an expansion of the list of differences between it and Tetris Attack. PsychoJosh 08:56, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for cleaning up this page. I definitely like the idea of having a distinct Panel De Pon page, but I suggest keeping the info on differences on the Tetris Attack page. Otherwise, the same content is stored on two different pages and is difficult to keep in sync.

[edit] Panel de Pon is not Tetris

I deleted the part saying that Panel de Pon was released in the US as Tetris, which is an entirely different game.--Soetermans 10:57, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Story and characters

Without a story and character description, this article might as well be merged into TA. I'd like to write out the story, but I don't have the original PdP game manual, and the only site I found with the story was Intelligent System's PdP site, but it won't display Japanese (my computer usually can, but for some reason it won't for some pages). So can someone either write the story themselves, or find it somewhere else? Perhaps we could elaborate more on the characters as well. Lip already has her own article, but none of the others are touched on. 199.126.137.209 02:37, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

I'd love to add those in, but I can't right now. There is really not that much info on the characters, so perhaps we can just make a article titled "Panel de Pon Characters" and merge Lip's article with it. As for the story, there's not much to add, and I believe it's already in Lip's article. Benpc91 22:43, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Lip's article doesn't mention anything on the story. Luckily however, it is detailed in the Japanese Wikipedia, so I'll incorporate it into this article soon. 199.126.137.209 12:46, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Super8robotg6?

Who the heck just put "Super8robotg6 has said that he thinks they are hot and wants to make out with all of em. Well, now we know who the father of the Puzzle Collection characters is."? I don't think that's unnessesary to do it. :/ Girla PurpleHeart 14:38, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

It's not really necessary to report every single instance of vandalism. Drexx 00:43, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Characters

I added short descriptions of the original PDP cast, plus names. Tell me if they're okay. Telemachus Claudius Rhade 13:15, 5 April 2007.

[edit] "Sherbert" & "Selene"

Ok, who wrote "Sherbert" and "Selene" where I wrote "Sharbet" and "Seren"? You obviously haven't played the game. The graphics say "Sharbet" and "Seren" in the Stage Select of 2P. VS. Mode. I corrected it by putting the correct names back. Sorry for sounding kinda angry. Telemachus Claudius Rhade 17:29, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
