Pankrác
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pankrác (Czech for Pancras) is a borough of Prague, Czech Republic. It is located south of the city centre on the hills of the right bank of the Vltava River and is part of district Prague 4. The name derives from the local church of St Pancras.
Pankrác is known for its Prague Pankrác Remand Prison, and in fact "pankrác" is almost synonymous with "prison" in Czech slang.
