Pananjakman

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pananjakman is the Filipino martial art of low-line kicking, associated with Eskrima.

Some people claim that it is an art of itself, others claim that someone just took the kicking portion of Eskrima and put the name Pananjakman on it to make some money with this "new" system. Pananjakman is not known in the Philippines itself but only in the West.

Pananjakman is the study of kicking from the knee to the Big Toe. It is a practical study of the bones and how and where they are connected with the goal of either administering pain or outright breaking or dislocating the bone / bones. It is the study of the ankle and how to kick it going towards the opposite foot. It is the study of stomping at the top of the foot where it meets the lower leg so as to break or crush the numerous bones. It is the study of understanging how to apply pressure to the foot or ankle so as to cause pain or to create an unatural bend. Lastly, Pananjakman is training in how to use these techniques with only using your own feet or legs such as when two fighters have locked up at top and are now in a clinch while their lower legs and feet are still free. Using techniques learned from Pananjakman a defender can keep an opponent from continuing to fight since the opponent cannot easily stand once proper techniques have been administered.
