Talk:Palla

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page used to redirect to impala, as (apparently) palla was listed as a variant of that in the 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica. I could find no other reference to palla = impala.

Besides the Italian ball game, the only reference to palla I could find is from Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (G & C. Merriam Co., 1913, edited by Noah Porter):

Pal"la (?), n. [L. See Pall a cloak.] (Rom. Antuq.) An oblong rectangular piece of cloth, worn by Roman ladies, and fastened with brooches.
