Pallacanestro Treviso, more often known by its sponsorship name of Benetton Basket, is an Italian basketball club from Treviso, the headquarters city of its longtime owner Benetton. It is currently competing in the Euroleague and the italian Serie A.

The club was founded in 1954 and purchased by Benetton in 1982, although it retains Pallacanestro Treviso as its legal name to this day. With the deep pockets of the Benetton family backing them, the club emerged in the 1990s as a major force in both Italy and Europe. In 1954 Duomo Folgore is born, ancestors of the Association Treviso Basketball, of which professor Menenio Bortolozzi is president. In 1961 the society is promoted in serie A without succeeding to avoid the immediate demotion. Around the Sixty born A.P. TREVISO and the social responsibility passes to Luciano Bortoletto; one series of slides brings the team in serie D. Lawyer Ugo Grelli becomes president and arrives the first true sponsor: the Faram. In 1976 the team is in serie C and catches up the B thanks to the fusion of two other societies. In 1978 comes engaged the first professional trainer, Mario De Sisti, and changes the sponsorship: the Liberti of Aldo Bordignon, he becomes also president. Treviso grow up in Italian basketball and obtains in 1979 the promotion in serie A2. In 1980/81 with De Sisti as team guide wins promotion in A1. The Benetton sponsor arrives, but the team is forced to emigrate to Padova where coach Piero Pasini does not succeed to avoid the demotion in A2. In 1982 the Benetton family gives to Treviso the jewel of the Palaverde and the team can return to the base with Mauro Di Vincenzo in park bench. To the term of the season the president Bordignon passes the hand to the Benetton family that becomes owner of the society and dottor Gianni Furlan is declared president. In 1984 Massimo Mangano seats in park bench and the team climb in A1, but it retreats in 85-86. In the 1986 new change to the social apex with the return of Luciano Bortoletto and the arrival of trainer Riccardo Sales. The team reconquers the A1 series and in the following year, 1988, it defends the permanence in the maximum series to the play-out, in order then in 1989 to catch up 5^ position in classification and to conquer a place in the Korac Cup. In season 1989/90, although a regular season, the formation remains in A1. In the 1990/91 is called the Croatian Petar Skansi as team coach. From the NBA the guard Vinny Del Negro arrives draging Treviso to dispute an exceptional tournament, concluded at the first place. The Benetton close then the regular phase in 5° position breaking on the 3rd match against Messaggero Roma, classificating 5^ optaining again the access to Korac Cup. In the summer of '91 A.P. TREVISO becomes Pallacanestro Treviso s.r.l. and Bortoletto the president charge to notary Enrico Fumo.
