Palasa is a town and a Mandal in Srikakulam district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.[1]

Palasa is located at 18.46N 84.25E.[2] It has an average elevation of 38 meters (127 feet).

Palasa is the center of cashew industries in the Srikakulam district. There are about 160 cashew processing industries around Palasa town, the highest amongst the five north east coastal districts (together contains only 36 units). Palasa is the largest cashew producing town of Andhra Pradesh and one of the largest processing centres in India. It is providing direct and indirect employment to about 15,000 people in the surrounding areas.[3]
Palasa is one of the railway stations with highest revenue in Visakhapatnam division of East Coast Railway zone.
