Palanzano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Parma in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 90 km west of Bologna and about 40 km south of Parma. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,331 and an area of 70.4 km2.[1]
The municipality of Palanzano contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Caneto, Isola, Lalatta, Nirone, Pratopiano, Ranzano, Ruzzano, Selvanizza, Trevignano, Vaestano, Vairo Inferiore, Valcieca, and Zibana.
Palanzano borders the following municipalities: Corniglio, Monchio delle Corti, Neviano degli Arduini, Ramiseto, Tizzano Val Parma, Vetto.
