Palais de Glace
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Palace de Glace is a historic French-style building of the Recoleta neighbourhood of Buenos Aires Argentina, built in 1910. It is located at Posadas 1725.
Originally built for ice skating, the building soon started hosting tango events which caused protests among the bourgeois elite but which later faded as tango gained social acceptance as a new art form.
Today the building is known for art exhibitions and for its historic contribution to the tango, having hosted many famous tango dancers, composors and musicians of the early age of tango.
